Many far eastern countries have developed such nuclear power.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2021/oct/15/uk-poised-to-confirm-funding-for-mini-nuclear-reactors-for-green-energy?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

https://www.theguardian.com/business/grogonomics/2021/oct/19/nuclear-power-too-costly-too-slow-so-its-zero-use-to-australias-emissions-plan?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

People do change there mind and support nuclear power but that means that a workforce is trained to maintain nuclear weapons which are illegal although UK have them. I have noticed that battery status and charge management becomes very poor in laptops and tablets long before the battery is worn out. This is not difficult to characterise and correct for continually. Philips have been doing this in there electric shavers for 35 years using a coulomb counting integrated circuit.

Lithium batteries have protection incorporated to prevent them discharging below about 3V per cell. All battery types resistance increases as they age and remaining capacity after use to correct for this the controller should reduce the maximum power progressively as the battery runs down so that you can use your bike with sensitivity to its battery state of charge.

This would need a firmware update in the controller. My guess is that the correction has not been carried out. So you will need to reduce your speed as the battery runs down to compensate for the missing software.

Andrew
contact@andrew-lohmann.me.ukAndrew Lohmannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16546730492286354404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062392551947010349.post-45879359157826823722021-10-24T09:11:39.851+01:002021-10-24T09:11:39.851+01:00I am sure that the dealer has done his best and su...I am sure that the dealer has done his best and substitution or better still return to the manufacturer should be done. Often electronics and engineering fails due to short cuts in worse case design. Whatever age the bike is a good manufacturer should put right a design defect but of cause many don't but some do.Andrew Lohmannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16546730492286354404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062392551947010349.post-13324264225022329062021-10-19T16:54:29.305+01:002021-10-19T16:54:29.305+01:00Andrew, I just met you in the breakout group of th...Andrew, I just met you in the breakout group of the SGR meeting. I am not a scientist but a keen diy'er of limited means. I have an electric bike as I have had ME for years and have very little strength. It worked fine for years but now quickly cuts out when maximum assist level is chosen. The battery is good and no other factors affect this cut out problem. Electric bike dealers are no help, they just attach replacement components wiythout proper diagnosis. I'm guessing that a thermal cut-out has become over sensitive. Is this likely to be in the bikes control box and if I was to show it to an electronics person at our next local 'repair cafe' when they restart (in Machynlleth, mid WAles) should it be relatively easy to identify the component and replace it?
Andrew CurrieAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14184236254730752613noreply@blogger.com
